On-Site Cardiac Testing & Diagnostic Imaging

Northwest Hospital provides full-service, state-of-the-art cardiac testing and diagnostic imaging, conveniently located in the Summit Cardiology and Western Washington Cardiology clinics, as well as on the Northwest Hospital campus. Patients may see a cardiologist and complete cardiac testing the same day, usually in a single location. Cardiovascular evaluation and testing covers a broad spectrum of cardiac diagnostics at all three locations, including echocardiography, CT angiography, cardiac MRI, nuclear stress testing, and pacemaker/cardiac device testing, among others.
In 2011, Northwest Hospital & Medical Center recycled approximately 5,714 cubic yards of mixed paper, glass, cans, milk cartons, plant material, food waste and plastics. More than 890 cubic yards of shredded paper and 646 assorted printer cartridges were also recycled.
The hospital continues to use an outside company for environmentally responsible recycling/disposal of fluorescent lamps, batteries, hazardous waste and kitchen fat. In 2011, 870 lamps, 1,169 pounds of batteries, 18 tons of computer monitors, televisions and other electronic equipment, 2.65 tons of kitchen fat, 46.8 tons of infectious waste/chemicals, and 460 tons of land filled garbage were either recycled or environmentally disposed.
In 2011, much of the waste produced by construction was recycled: 2.2 tons of copper wire and 1.7 pounds of r-123 refrigerant. These were recovered and reclaimed from existing equipment. Additionally, 8.9 tons of plastic were diverted from landfills through reuse programs.
Other “green” efforts at the hospital include washing hospital vehicles at an automated car wash that employs green practices by separating road pollutants from waste water discharge, including oils, heavy metals and antifreeze. These pollutants are diverted away from storm water collection to the sewage treatment system for further cleaning. The company also recently upgraded its water reclamation systems to use less and recycle more water.
